A few years ago God directed Jim and Lynette McCleland to move from Normal, Illinois to Venice, FL to start a new church.

They were obedient and came, but knew no one here, had no ready-made congregation...only direction from the Lord.

One evening while walking along the pier God spoke to Pastor Jim and told him to look around - which he did. Around him were several people fishin'...all ages, shapes, sizes, colors...just fishin'.

God then spoke to Pastor Jim again and told him, "Jim, these are the people you're going to help Me reach. They're here fishin' for food, you're here to fish for men (used here loosely to mean men, women and children)."

At that moment the original church name was selected - Fishers of Men Bible Church. Then, in 2008 God led Pastors Jim and Lynette to expand the vision of Fishers of Men Bible Church and the Center of Hope was birthed. Fishers of Men Bible Church has now merged with the Center of Hope and both are operating under the same name and leadership.

We still fish. And we still offer hope.

So, come "fish" with us at any of our services or community outreaches - everyone is welcome! "Come, and I will make you fishers of men . . . for the harvest is great but the workers are few."
